The Wonder Girls are on the charts of Billboard.com again. Why?

“21 Under 21″ is a chart not only for artiste whose age is still tender (under 21) but also their potential to rule the pop culture zeitgeist over the next 12 months.

These artists ranged from country music musician, Taylor Swift, to electric pop, Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly). All under the age of 21, but already with a small success of their own.

South Korean pop sensation, Wonder Girls (comprised of Sun, Yenny, Sohee, Lim, Yubin – former member, Mimi) came in #16 on the chart. It was their Motown inspired song, “Nobody,” that has sparked U.S. interest.

Making a breakthrough into the U.S. market with a small success, the track (”Nobody”) entered the Hot 100 at no. 76 last month (it is also one of the reason why they are hot).

Let us all anticipate for another infectious pop album to be coming our way, scheduled for release in January 2011.

Wonder Girls get chosen as some of the Sexiest Women in the World by FHM’s (For Him Magazine) Singapore edition.

Men’s lifestyle magazine, FHM, which was originally published in the United Kingdom and now expands to over 26 countries, recently revealed their yearly ranking of the 100 Sexiest Woman in the World.

This year’s ranking featured the hottest Singaporean female celebrities and models as well as some American, European, Latin and other Asian sexy ladies, of course, Korea couldn’t be left out without someone in the list.

The highest ranking out of the Korean females was given to none other than the Wonder Girls at no. 38, surpassing Natalie Portman, Rihanna and zombie killing hotties Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter. Wonder Girls are probably one of the most popular Korean groups in Singapore thanks to their infectious Nobody and it looks like they are also considered as the hottest Korean girls by men.

The other idols included were SNSD at no. 99 and 4Minute’s Hyunah at no. 85.

Wonder Girls had arrived in singapore for an event related to Sony Ericsson. It’s now been revealed that the girls will officially be models for the global brand of Sony Ericsson Asia Pacific!

A representative of JYP Entertainment revealed at the 2010 Sony Ericsson Media Conference in Singapore that the girls would officially be modeling for the phone brand but not just for Korea but also for China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand in the Asia Pacific Region.

The rep said, “The last time the Wonder Girls made their promotions in America, they left quite an impression through digital marketing via YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.”

The Wonder Girls commented on their recent modeling gig through their rep saying, “We’ve always like the Sony Ericsson phone brand, so we’re very happy that we can work with Asia Pacific to begin modeling promotions.”

Remember once upon a time when the Wonder Girls were cosmetic models for Peripera? The group has now left that all behind and will be launching their own Wonder Girls brand cosmetics instead!

It was announced that the Wonder Girls’ cosmetics will be launched on the 24th. The launch would have been earlier but had to be delayed after Sunmi’s withdrawal. As a result, the print ads and everything had to be redone all over again, with the inclusion of new member, Hye Lim and was finally completed on the 18th.

To celebrate the launch of the cosmetics, it was revealed by a representative that part of the sales profit would be donated to charity organizations like UNICEF, to promote and create a culture for social contributions.

Beside domestic markets, there are also plans to launch it in China this coming May as well as Southeast Asia, Japan and America in the coming months.

Don’t be surprised if you find Sunmi below, it was released by mistake. You can see that Hye Lim has just taken over, wearing the same yellow outfit.

Wonder Girls who have been away from the Kpop scene for some time to promote in the States will be back on the Korean performing stage this year. Coming April, WonderGirls will be releasing their first full-length album in the States, and will be doing a ‘Korea-America-Asian’ promotions for it. A representative revealed on the 19th, “Currently the girls are working on the new album, and it will include their hit songs like ‘Nobody’ as well as 4~5 new song. In addition, the girls will be recording a Korean version to the title song for fans in Korea.” And about whether the girls will be promoting the Korean version of the title song, the rep said, “Korea is included in part of the promotions for their new album. And we are seeing that they will be promoting in Korea for a longer time than in other countries for the song.” Currently the WonderGirls are promoting their hit song ‘Nobody’ in the States, as well as in China. Meanwhile, member SunMi will be leaving the team and heading back to Korea to prepare for her college life in March, while JYP trainee Hye Rim will be joining as new member.

T mag: After touring the US together, I feel like the members have gotten more closer to each other. Before your debut, JYP always stressed that you should “only see the positives in people,” his words left a powerful impression on me. Honestly speaking, it’s hard to see only the pros instead of the cons when you spend so much time together. Can you girls talk about the positives of each member?

Yeeun: Sun Mi has a lot of “aegyo” (= cuteness). She brings a lot of joy to everyone even when we’re tired and exhausted. She doesn’t just make everyone laugh, she actually infects everyone around her with the “happy virus.”

Yoobin: She doesn’t act all cute on purpose but she makes everyone watching her happy.

Sunye: And she always practices hard. She’s a self-motivated girl.

Sun Mi: Yeeun-unnie is a person that always works hard on developing herself (as a singer and as a person), and she also knows how to care for other people. She is like an older sister to me…actually, all the unnies are like sisters to me.

Sun Ye & Yoobin:Sun Mi is mumbling her words right now~ [laughs]

Sun Mi: No I’m not~! I don’t have any sisters (in my family). But I’m happy that all the unnies treat me as if I was their younger sibling.

Yeeun: [hugs Sun Mi] Sun Mi!

Yoobin: Yeeun likes to take care of people. Whenever we eat she always looks after the person sitting next to her. She also likes to do things together.

Sunye: And she is the smartest one out of the group. She also plays the “comedian” role in our team so she always makes us laugh.

Sun Mi: That’s why whenever we go on a variety show without Yeeun-unnie the atmosphere is very dull!

Yeeun: I always try my best! [laughs]

Sunye: A lot of people misunderstand Sohee because she’s introverted and shy but she’s really a thoughtful person who has deep thoughts. She’s very passionate, once she has her eye on something she likes, she works hard on getting it and refuses to lose.

Yeeun: And she’s pretty funny too. With one joke she has the power to make everyone in the room burst into laughter. What can I say, she has great timing for telling jokes? She also likes to “fix” things. For example, if there is a loose thread sticking out of my shirt she quietly walks over and rips it out. or if there’s a clothes pin sticking out she comes close and whispers “Unnie I can see your clothes pin” and walks away.

Yoobin: She’s the type of person that quietly looks after you in the background.

Sun Mi: Sohee, how about me? Take care of me too! Me!!

Sohee: Be quiet.

Everyone: hahaha!

Sunye: Yoobin-unnie acts very much like the oldest unnie. I have responsibilities as the team leader but it must be hard for Yoobin-unnie to have the responsibilities of the oldest unnie.

Yeeun: As the oldest unnie she gives up/surrenders a lot (for the younger members). She is also very knowledgeable because she has experience of studying abroad and likes to read and listen to various types of books and music. And she dresses well too. Sohee and Yoobin are the fashionistas in our group.

Sun Mi: It’s their (Sohee and Yoobin’s) lifestyle!

Yoobin: But we wear sweats everyday at home? [laughs]

Sohee: It has already been discussed before but, Yoobin really acts like the oldest unnie. She is someone you can talk comfortably with and lean on for support.

Yeeun: Sunye is a true leader. She always monitors our performances and gently tells us how we can fix our mistakes, which is a hard task to do. Also, out of all the members, she is the member who cooks the most. She finds joy in watching people tastefully eating her food so she like to make us “dduk book ki” (*note: spicy hot rice cake) a lot.

Sunye: I’m going to “break up” with rice cakes now. [laughs] (*note: for those who don’t know, Sunye is obsessed with rice cakes)

Yoobin: These days since we’re so busy, instead cooking, she likes to treat us out and buy us food. Anyway, I think all the members take care of each other quietly in their own way. A few weeks ago I celebrated “Adult Day” (*note: a celebration when teens “officially” become adults), honestly we were so busy that I didn’t think much of it. But the members came with lighted candles and gave my presents. I’m so thankful that their so well-grounded. But then again, maybe I just like getting presents? [laughs]
