As we all know Wonder Girl’ Sunmi took a break from her career activities to pursue her studies. WonderFuls have declared every 2nd day of the month to be “Sunmi Day!”. Wonder Girls Fan Union got together and came up with a few activities for Sunmi during her hiatus.

1. Bus Advertisements
Instead of newspaper ads, we’ve decided to put up Bus Advertisements on Seoul City Buses. However, the number of buses that we will put the advertisements on will be reflected by the budget that we have.

In the Advertisement, we will have a picture of Sunmi and our message of support for her.

2. Sunmi Day
We have decided to make the 2nd day of every month, “Sunmi Day.” (eg. March 2nd, April 2nd, May 2nd and so on..)

To celebrate each Sunmi day, Korean fansites will create a board on each websites just for Sunmi. For WonderFuls World, we will be creating a post with a chatbox for that day. So that we can remember, talk about her, upload pictures & videos of her etc.

Also, special banners & main pages will be made by fans. Every month, we will be choose the best design of the month & it will be posted on our main pages for the Sunmi day. Currently the design competition for Sunmi Day is not open for foreign fans yet, however we will discuss on how we can get foreign fans to participate in it as well.

3. Post-Its
Every once a while, representatives will be going to JYPE center in Seoul,Korea to post post-its for Sunmi. Each month, there will be a different WonderFul fansite that will be hosting the collection of messages.We will inform you with the link to the site for the collection of messages for that particular month when it has been decided.

Please understand that due to the size constrain of a POST-IT note, please avoid writing long messages/letters as it will be hard to fit it in a Post-It note. We encourage you to write short messages roughly about 20 words or less.

We hope for strong participation and support from foreign fans as well as Korean fans.

Yes, the breaking news of Sunmi postponing her music career to pursue on her studies  has been official announced by JYPE.  We will definitely miss Sunmi and her aegyo acts.  We hereby wish Sunmi best of luck on her academics.

T mag: After touring the US together, I feel like the members have gotten more closer to each other. Before your debut, JYP always stressed that you should “only see the positives in people,” his words left a powerful impression on me. Honestly speaking, it’s hard to see only the pros instead of the cons when you spend so much time together. Can you girls talk about the positives of each member?

Yeeun: Sun Mi has a lot of “aegyo” (= cuteness). She brings a lot of joy to everyone even when we’re tired and exhausted. She doesn’t just make everyone laugh, she actually infects everyone around her with the “happy virus.”

Yoobin: She doesn’t act all cute on purpose but she makes everyone watching her happy.

Sunye: And she always practices hard. She’s a self-motivated girl.

Sun Mi: Yeeun-unnie is a person that always works hard on developing herself (as a singer and as a person), and she also knows how to care for other people. She is like an older sister to me…actually, all the unnies are like sisters to me.

Sun Ye & Yoobin:Sun Mi is mumbling her words right now~ [laughs]

Sun Mi: No I’m not~! I don’t have any sisters (in my family). But I’m happy that all the unnies treat me as if I was their younger sibling.

Yeeun: [hugs Sun Mi] Sun Mi!

Yoobin: Yeeun likes to take care of people. Whenever we eat she always looks after the person sitting next to her. She also likes to do things together.

Sunye: And she is the smartest one out of the group. She also plays the “comedian” role in our team so she always makes us laugh.

Sun Mi: That’s why whenever we go on a variety show without Yeeun-unnie the atmosphere is very dull!

Yeeun: I always try my best! [laughs]

Sunye: A lot of people misunderstand Sohee because she’s introverted and shy but she’s really a thoughtful person who has deep thoughts. She’s very passionate, once she has her eye on something she likes, she works hard on getting it and refuses to lose.

Yeeun: And she’s pretty funny too. With one joke she has the power to make everyone in the room burst into laughter. What can I say, she has great timing for telling jokes? She also likes to “fix” things. For example, if there is a loose thread sticking out of my shirt she quietly walks over and rips it out. or if there’s a clothes pin sticking out she comes close and whispers “Unnie I can see your clothes pin” and walks away.

Yoobin: She’s the type of person that quietly looks after you in the background.

Sun Mi: Sohee, how about me? Take care of me too! Me!!

Sohee: Be quiet.

Everyone: hahaha!

Sunye: Yoobin-unnie acts very much like the oldest unnie. I have responsibilities as the team leader but it must be hard for Yoobin-unnie to have the responsibilities of the oldest unnie.

Yeeun: As the oldest unnie she gives up/surrenders a lot (for the younger members). She is also very knowledgeable because she has experience of studying abroad and likes to read and listen to various types of books and music. And she dresses well too. Sohee and Yoobin are the fashionistas in our group.

Sun Mi: It’s their (Sohee and Yoobin’s) lifestyle!

Yoobin: But we wear sweats everyday at home? [laughs]

Sohee: It has already been discussed before but, Yoobin really acts like the oldest unnie. She is someone you can talk comfortably with and lean on for support.

Yeeun: Sunye is a true leader. She always monitors our performances and gently tells us how we can fix our mistakes, which is a hard task to do. Also, out of all the members, she is the member who cooks the most. She finds joy in watching people tastefully eating her food so she like to make us “dduk book ki” (*note: spicy hot rice cake) a lot.

Sunye: I’m going to “break up” with rice cakes now. [laughs] (*note: for those who don’t know, Sunye is obsessed with rice cakes)

Yoobin: These days since we’re so busy, instead cooking, she likes to treat us out and buy us food. Anyway, I think all the members take care of each other quietly in their own way. A few weeks ago I celebrated “Adult Day” (*note: a celebration when teens “officially” become adults), honestly we were so busy that I didn’t think much of it. But the members came with lighted candles and gave my presents. I’m so thankful that their so well-grounded. But then again, maybe I just like getting presents? [laughs]

Many people wonder why the Wonder Girls receive so much love from nearly everyone in Korea and world-wide. Some say it’s their music, their pretty face, JYP, etc.

But as you grow to love and understand them, you will know that it’stheir humanity that attracts you. What makes a group strong is showingcare and concern for each other no matter when. Only then, can thegroup soar high and overcome any difficulties.

Wonder Girls really went through hard times

SunYe’s mom passed away when she was just a little girl and her dad isn’t in the best of health. Despite this, Sun Ye continued practicing for 7years. During the Tell Me days after the accident, Sun Ye’s grandfather passed away before he could see her Tell Me comeback. Sun Ye lost her appetite and it was very noticeable how much weight she had lost. Not long ago,Sun Ye apologized to her grandma at a radio show. As teardrops trickled down her face, she said she will succeed for her grandma and let her do everything she wants.

Ye Eun’s(Yenny) dream was always to be a singer. She did not make it through many auditions with many people telling her to give up but she didn’t. She told them that she wanted to be a singer that could move and inspire people.

Sun Mi(Mimi) is always smiling. Not many know about Sun Mi’s past. The many hard times that she went through. Just right before the Wonder Girls debuted with Irony, Sun Mi’s dad passed away. During her JYP trainee days, she would travel up to Seoul from her hometown of Gyeong-ju by herself and practice.

So Hee would always leave messages on Sun Ye’s minihompy saying that training was very tiring for her and she wanted to quit sometimes.After HyunA left the group and the first album came out, the So Hee that was outgoing and always smiling was gone. When she was filming for her movie, she would go to Sun Ye and Ye Eun after filming and cry in their arms. As the rumors of her being mistreated by the others came out, she didn’t want the the other members to feel uncomfortable around her so she tried her best to be cheerful

HyunA’s outgoing and big personality led to some harsh things being said. She had worked hard as a trainee for 4 years even with her health. She has chronic gastroenteritis which got her hospitalized and because of this, her parents did not let her continue with the Wonder Girls. Many unthoughtful rumors came up aboutwhy she left the group and there was a time where HyunA wrote an entry on her Cyworld saying that she did not want to live anymore.

Yoobin had told us before that she sometimes cries as she eats by herself. Her family are all overseas and she is very lonely. On holidays, as the other members leave the apartment to have dinner with their families,she stays home and has dinner by herself. During these hard times for her, she still had many bad things said about her taking over HyunA’s place. Many anti’s of hers had formed just because of the fact that she was a new member.

As Park Jin Young formed the Wonder Girls, he told Sun Ye to always comeback to the practice room after performances and practice. Even during their Tell Me days where they barely got 3 or 4 hours of sleep, all of the members would come back after their schedule and practice. Not because someone ordered them to, but because they wanted to. Practice makes perfect.

From  fan cams, we found that Sunmi was in a cast once she’s arrived the Pudong Shanghai Airport on 29 Nov 2009.  Although her ankle is not fully recovered, Sunmi is such a trooper and still pulls of stunning performances at their 1^st Wonder Shanghai Concert on 01 Dec 2009.

Since then they have performed on MTV Style Gala Awards and travelled to Korea for interviews and been to L.A. for Jingle Ball concert.  Today we were able to witness Sunmi performing their hit “Nobody” on So You Think You Can Dance in the cutest GOLDEN sneakers!  If you miss this, then you are missing out on the Wonders!!!  Go and check it out and stay tuned for more of Wonder Girls facts!

“I was always very curious how much i was growing so I built this thing. It’s easy to measure yourself at home and (her the text is too small so I’m not sure) with a plastic thingie you can note your height. Because it’s foldable it needs little space and it’s easy to store. Because it can stand up itself (?) you don’t need to hang it on a wall and it won’t sway back and fro when you measure yourself.”
